What do you need to apply for a credit card for the first time?

I want to apply for a credit card, I'm 20 right now, I was wondering what do I have to do/need to apply for a credit card? How much money do I have to have in my bank account to apply? Please help me.|||You need 12/18 months on a job. Also, as of February 2010, you have to be 21 or you'll need a co-signer.|||All you will need is some type of income and your basic credentials..
