What type of credit card is best for someone who has no credit history?

I'd like to start building credit some how, but i do not own a credit card. what am i looking for? what is APR exactly mean? what credit card company is best for me...capital one? discover? what do they offer?|||The "best" credit card is none at all. Use a debit card instead if at all possible. You don't "build credit" by charging things, you build credit by paying bills (any bills) on time and having a good income history.

If you are in a situation where you really need a credit card (i.e. need to charge things ahead of time and pay later), look for a low fixed APR. Don't go for "teaser rates" that go up every six months, and never, ever, get a card with an annual fee. There is no "best company" in that for a basic card they all work the same, so just go for a low rate with a company you feel comfortable with.|||Forget about APR

The way to perfect credit ratings is never to pay interest (APR)

You only pay APR if you carry balances.

If you pay your credit card bill in full each month, you never pay this and build amazing credit.

Where do you have your checking account?

Google the bank followed by the word credit cards.

Remember: There is a myth out there that carrying balances (not paying in full each month is good for credit). Don't fall for the trap that banks are tying to get you into. Even if you find something with 0% APR - pay in full each month anyway for top credit|||You cannot get any of those credit cards when you have no credit.

You cannot get any of those credit cards until after you build credit.

A "secured" credit card is the only credit card that you can get when you have no credit.
